Who can join?
Anyone can join up!
If you are a member of iCU, then you may join as a full member, which entitles you to all the rights enjoyed by affiliate members, plus you can stand for committee posts, and vote at elections and Annual General Meetings (AGMs).
Life members of ICU and students attending a University, College, or Union which has a reciprocal arrangement with Imperial College Union, may join as an affiliate member . This allows you to broadcast on the radio, and to use our equipment. You also get to come along to all our social events, and generally enjoy being a member of a dynamic exciting club!
Who will teach me how to use the equipment?
After joining, you will be able to arrange a training session with an experienced equipment operator. This takes place at a mutually convenient time, and will usually take about an hour. This consists of about 30 minutes guided tour of the equipment, and 30 minutes for you to 'play' and familiarise yourself, whilst not on air. An experienced person will be on hand for you to ask questions, and will always be present when you are doing your shows.
How much will it cost?
Currently (February 2005), the membership fee is seven pounds. This covers administrative fees, and insurance. This membership is valid until the end of the current academic year (i.e. a membership taken out now would expire at the end of September ).
How do I join up?
You can contact us by phone or email, or come and visit us at the radio station and ask to speak to any committee member, who will be able to fill out the necessary form and give you a membership card.
