Personal finance news

-Tens of thousands of expat pensioners may return to the UK to use the NHS after Brexit.

-Small firms have been hit by rates relief delay.

-The value of the pound dropped after a projection suggested the Conservatives could fail to win an outright majority in the election on 8 June.

Random fact of the week

During the Middle Ages, knights did not want to carry cash around because of robbers. Instead, knights wore special rings. When a knight stayed at an inn, for example, he would stamp the bill with his ring. The innkeeper later took the stamped bill to the knight’s castle to be paid.

Inspirational quote

Our inspirational personal finance quote this week comes from Jonathan Swift who said.

“A wise person should have money in their head, but not in their heart.”
