What’s the value of a financial plan?
In this episode, chartered financial planner Nick Bamford from Informed Choice talks to Martin about financial planning, how it differs from financial advice, and the light bulb moments he sees with clients when presenting their financial plans.
Nick is a very experienced Chartered Financial Planner and was the previous Chairman of the Society of Financial Advisers (SOFA).
He is an Associate of the Personal Finance Society (APFS). In 2006, he graduated from Napier University with a BA Honours degree in Financial Services.
Nick has been an independent financial adviser (IFA) since 1989. He has spent his entire working life in the financial services profession.
In this episode, Martin asks Nick:
-What exactly is a financial plan how does it differ from financial advice?
-How do people respond when you present financial planning to them?
-What type of people are coming to Informed Choice to arrange their financial plans?
-What happens after the Strategy meeting that you described earlier?
-Do you have an example of one situation where financial planning gave a “wow” moment to a client?
-If you had to describe financial planning in one short sentence what would that be?
